Lifted Botox

A multifunctional building located in Jakarta’s Senopati area—a well-known lifestyle district—was transformed from a former bar into a two-story space that now houses a restaurant on the ground floor and a medical aesthetic clinic named Lifted on the second floor. The project’s goal was to reduce the social stigma still associated with Botox treatments in Indonesia, especially among the more conservative public who may hold misconceptions about cosmetic enhancements.

Balancing the sterility of healthcare with the softness of wellness, Lifted inspires Helen Agustine Studio to create a spatial dialogue between scientific clarity and artistic expression, fuses art and science into a cohesive spatial experience. The design balances functionality, branding, comfort, and hygiene while maintaining a strong sense of trust, luxury, and professionalism. This was achieved through material choices that juxtapose warm, organic textures with clinical elements like stainless steel and glass. The centre of the layout is an efficient looping corridor surrounded by consultation and treatment rooms, maximizing space within a tight floor area. Visitors access the clinic via a dynamic, flowing staircase that leads to the second floor, accompanied by a site-specific installation by Gabriel Aries—an abstract three-dimensional sculpture inspired by the form of a syringe.

The interior design itself echoes the clinic’s name, Lifted, through numerous floating and elevated elements found in furniture details and the overall spatial composition. The façade cantilevers outward with long, seamless glass panels, creating the illusion of two levitating forms: a curved wall and an arched lobby ceiling. Inside, the lobby is designed as a boutique lounge, with low, cozy seating to ease patient anxiety. A sculptural blue marble table appears to float from the floor in asymmetric curves, doubling as a product display and waiting area, framed by a rippling wall texture that references the layers of human skin. The reception is anchored by the same marble beneath a luminous orb and a rounded ceiling of exposed concrete.

Skylights and extended glazing allow daylight to flood even the smallest areas, including the entrance and treatment rooms, making them feel open and airy. Curved architectural details flow through every wall, column, and piece of furniture, softening the spatial experience and intentionally countering the sharp, clinical imagery often associated with syringes and injections.

Lifted redefines the aesthetic clinic typology by gently reframes the narrative and stigma around cosmetic treatments, embodying both artistry and professionalism to cultivate a sense of psychological comfort through design.
